Learning is about receiving, accepting, understanding the world through the prism of our education. Unlearning is about rejecting, subverting, understanding the world through the prism of our own experience.

In school, we didn’t just learn maths and english and science – the substance of what we were taught. We learnt to learn – the methods of how we’re taught. Unlearning is about unpicking the stitches that were made in childhood. Reject the blueprint and draw your own.

We must accept as adults that we’re a product of the environmental and genetic factors of our upbringing and our family lineage. But we are not bound by them. You could say that as children we learn, and as adults we unlearn.
